  1. Informing the Public: As Clerk, Ellsworth aims to keep the public informed about court activities. Regular press releases will provide updates on what’s happening within the courts.
  2. Accountability: Despite the judiciary’s supposed non-partisan nature, Ellsworth acknowledges the need for accountability. Holding the Supreme Court and other judicial bodies accountable is essential.
  3. Critical Role: While some may consider it a “lesser title” than Ellsworth currently serves, it plays a key role in maintaining balance within the judiciary., it is critical. The Clerk’s office ensures that people are informed about what’s happening and that the court of public opinion has an opportunity to weigh in.
  4. Restoring Balance: Ellsworth believes there’s much to be done within the Montana Supreme Court. By restoring coequal power among the branches of government, improving oversight, and addressing constitutional cases, he aims to strengthen the judiciary.
